What’s Fab Lab?
Fab Lab is the experimental laboratories for citizens.
It provides personal digital fabrication tools such as a 3D printer and the laser cutter with the concept of “MAKE”,”LEARN” and “SHARE”.
The idea was conceived by renowned inventor and scientist Professor Neil Gershenfeld at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). There are more than 1,900 Fab Labs all over the world(as for Sep,2020) and the networks have been expanding. Each Fab Labs are the “local Laboratories” to make things which reflect the needs according to the native materials, culture, and lifestyles. At the same time it works globally through worldwide networks.
All Fab Labs are operated in accordance with the common philosophy called Fab Charter. The operators of each Fab Labs are the educational organizations, the non-profit organizations, the companies and so on.
